Things were looking positive for The Bloodline on Saturday night following The Rock and Roman Reigns emphatic victory over Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Of course, no WWE storyline is complete without the addition of some nail-biting drama, and fans certainly weren’t disappointed this time around.
Having suffered from friendly fire as Rhodes inadvertently slammed The Rock with a spear, the dynamic duo went on to recover well and get the job done. The match was brought to an eventual end when The Rock managed to land a devastating Rock Bottom to Rhodes before doubling down with a People’s Elbow to complete the pinfall.
Possible Cracks in the Bloodline
With the twists and turns of WWE, nobody should have been surprised when things took a turn for the worse for Reigns on Sunday night. Having secured Bloodline rules in his massive matchup against Rhodes, his staggering 1,316-day title run came to an end following three Cross Rhodes to crown a new champion.
Having lost the belt, many will be wondering whether The Bloodline will fall to the wayside. With Reigns no longer seen as the most powerful man in the organisation, some believe The Rock may look to seize his opportunity to leapfrog the former champion and go for the gold himself.
For now, the shock of Reigns losing the belt remains fresh but there’s no doubt that his time at the top will be remembered as one of the best runs in WWE history.
