UFC fans have been left somewhat concerned following the postponement of a press conference for UFC 303 just hours before it was set to start. The event in question was scheduled to take place at Dublin’s 3Arena and would have included appearances from headliners Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler.
Of course, the postponement of the event led many to jump to conclusions about the main event itself, with people wondering whether McGregor was about to announce his unavailability. However, McGregor later claimed the postponement of the press conference was related to obstacles out of his control.
Further UFC 303 Developments
Despite McGregor’s update, fans have understandably continued to discuss the notion that he could be about to pull out of the fight. Prominent mixed martial arts journalist, Ariel Helwani, seemed to add fuel to the fire by suggesting there was “No news at the moment”. He went on to state, “The hope is still that the fight is on. There is positivity, I’d say. But they have sent out feelers to see who might be able to fill in, either as a replacement or an entirely new fight at the top of the bull. Still developing, and still some time.”
Interestingly, fans have reported that they’re no longer able to purchase the UFC 303 PPV and that free McGregor fight videos that were made available a few days ago have suddenly been made private.
For now, we’ll need to wait to see what the UFC says about what’s going on, but things certainly aren’t looking great for McGregor vs. Chandler.
