Department of Law Enforcement Commissioner Mark Glass has confirmed that four people have been arrested in connection with the August 31 shooting of Florida State linebacker Ethan Pritchard.
Three of the four suspects have been named as Jayden Bodison, Caron Miller, and Germany Atkins, with the fourth being an unnamed minor.
Shooting Incident
According to police reports, Pritchard was dropping off family members at a residence in Havan, Florida, when he was shot inside his car. Gadsden County Sheriff Morris Young has since suggested officials believe the incident was a case of mistaken identity.
Pritchard in Critical Condition
The latest updates suggest Pritchard remains in critical but stable condition at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, with the linebacker continuing to be treated for a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
Mike Norvell Discusses Pritchard
Speaking about Pritchard’s impact on the field, Florida State coach Mike Norvell emotionally noted, “Ethan is one of my favorites. I recruited him for years and got a chance to watch him grow. When he committed to Florida State, the way that he plays the game, his passion and energy. He loves it. I mean, absolutely loves it”.
Pritchard then addressed the tragic shooting, noting, “To know that right now that's taken away from him in a senseless act and something that you don't always know why. You don't know why you have to go through things in life. You don't understand the reasoning, but I do believe that God has his hand over Ethan and this football team and all the relationships”.
